The Ask Father conference (mail list) has been in existence since 1987. Father Mateo (a penname) was a priest and retired Scripture and classical languages professor, who answered questions on the Catholic Church: its faith, history, practice, customs, moral values, and other questions on specifically Catholic matters. Father Mateo died July 18, 1996.
