Dear Jim,
 
That's right - Mary did not experience normal childbirth when Jesus
was born.  The birth was miraculous and did not destroy her physical
integrity.
 
You are experiencing, I think, what we all must experience who believe
in Christ.  If our preconceived, human notions were sufficient for our
salvation, we would not need a revelation from God.  But since God gave
us a revelation, we can expect it to shatter our preconceived notions.
That is why humility, faith, and obedience are absolute requirements
for salvation.
