Msg Base: AREA 5 - ASK FATHER CIN ECHO AMDG Msg No: 152. Fri 10-11-91 16:30 From: Father Mateo To: Ted Ludwig Subject: KC Correspondence Course ³ Thanks, for the answer. What is your opinion of the Knights of Columbus, ³ Catholic Information Service, correspondence course. It comes in ten ³ lessons and each lesson has a test sheet to be filled out and sent back to ³ be graded? Are you familiar with this. Is this a good source of ³ education? I am just finished lesson eight. Dear Ted, Forty years ago I read several of the Knights of Columbus correspondence course booklets, and I remember thinking that they were very good. But who knows how many changes have been made in them since then?! I wish that I could advise you on the basis of recent information. Purely as guesswork, let me say that in ten lessons you will achieve an overview of the main points of Catholic doctrine and morality, but in no great depth. I suggest you follow up your correspondence course with some solid reading. As a starting point, you might read "The Teaching of Christ: A Catholic Catechism for Adults," ed. Lawler, Wuerl, and Lawler. 3rd edition, 1991. ISBN 0-87973-850-2. Our Sunday Visitor Press, 200 Noll Plaza, Huntington, Indiana 46750. Sincerely in Christ, Father Mateo
